Types of Giving

Annual Giving

Annual gifts are the primary vehicle for Cranbrook’s family and friends to provide immediate support of our mission. These unrestricted gifts fund operating needs and help sustain Cranbrook as a community where education is prized, the human spirit is nurtured, and innovation and creativity are valued.

Capital, Endowment & Special Projects

Since 1904, Cranbrook has grown and prospered thanks to significant gifts from our community’s family and friends. Capital gifts to Cranbrook ensure a strong permanent endowment, help to build and maintain facilities, provide scholarship support to current Cranbrook Academy of Art and Cranbrook Schools’ students, and sustain a comprehensive range of creative and educational programs and experiences. Cranbrook’s institutional stability, and its place as one of the world’s leading centers of education, science, and art, is a reflection of the generosity of our dedicated supporters.

Donors who choose to make capital gifts can direct their support toward a specific purpose that matches their personal interests with the needs and priorities of Cranbrook and its program areas. Such purposes include facilities, scholarships, and special projects. Capital gifts may also lead to recognition opportunities, which honor or memorialize a person of the donor’s choosing.

Planned Giving

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Cranbrook Educational Community and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate planning, and philanthropic goals. For more information, visit Planned Giving at Cranbrook.
